Product Description
The extremely durable and high-performance SpeedMaster II boasts a high maximum drag power combined with a smooth, ultra-wide range of drag adjustability to make it a true fish-fighting machine. Shimano constructed the SpeedMaster II with a rigid HAGANE Body to prevent the misalignment of moving parts under the heaviest loads. Plus, the SpeedMaster II 20II and 25II reels come with a spare drag cam for optimal performance when fishing with monofilament lines. New for 2023, the SpeedMaster II series of reels adds 8 and 10 sizes to the lineup — ideal for bottom fishing or nearshore applications when anglers demand battle-tested performance.Hagane is a Shimano reel design concept created to withstand continual use and extreme abuse. Hagane is an innovation with built-in toughness and durability that works alongside Shimano's precision engineering. Hagane is for all anglers.
S-Compact Body allows for all-day comfort and improved fishability by making the palming side plate up to 25% smaller than the A-Shape plate.
Cross Carbon Drag material provides a wider range of drag setting compared to traditional drag materials. The Cross Carbon Drag provides the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever while providing anglers with increased durability.
S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearing. These shields reduce the posibility of salt or sand inhibiting rotation of the bearing.
Super Free Spool eliminates friction on the spool shaft during cast. Standard baitcasting reels are constructed in a way that when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft. this creates friction that can limit the length of a cast. But baitcasting Super Free Spools are constructed so that the pinion gear is supported by ball bearing. When the clutch is disengaged in preparation for a cast, the pinoin gear and spool shaft are kept in perfect alignment.
